People We'd Like To Thank

Moustache McFadden would not be where it is today without the amazing help of Jarrod Fry, Jamie Iglehart, Jenn Schatz, Brian Shoaf, Carl Bailey, Kurt and Pat Steele, Bryan Carlin, Ali Farahnakian, Kevin Scott, Devon Nevola, Jeremy Morris, Seth Gladstone, Alec Coiro, George Alasania, Victor Quinaz, Brian Hoffman and Corey Mousa and everyone who made a call, sent an e-mail, forced a friend to see the show, or has just been one. Thank you from Moustache McFadden.

The sketch comedy troupe Moustache McFadden began in the spring of 2002. Originally formed as a modern dance trio focused on the persecution of the American Indian, it has evolved over the years into a prominent New York City comedy group with virtually nothing to do with Indians, American or otherwise.

Until recently the group was the pet project of the late, great Moustache McFadden. Mr. McFadden, a comedy benefactor since the turn of the last century, wanted to leave one last accomplishment behind before his passing. Having been a major force behind black-face humor, the famed Fanny and Butts comedy twins, and monkey sidekick pictures, this was a man who knew what was funny. And when he saw the rag tag group of performers that would form "Moustache McFadden" he knew he had lightning in a bottle. The boys were skeptical, but Mr. McFadden wouldn't hear it. Well, to be more precise, he really couldn't hear it. So with that the ball was rolling.

It was a slow going process at first, full of missteps and hijinks, but the boys had a secret weapon, Mr. McFadden. With his wisdom and guidance they left behind their original idea, a tribute show to the comedy of Gilbert Godfried, and pushed themselves for something more. What they ended up with would change the face of comedy forever, and some would say for the better.

Over the years they have continued with a variety of different shows, their only desire to make the jolly old Mr. McFadden smile. And smile he did, and laugh, and cry, and then he died. Of rickets. Which seems an odd way to go when you'e 120 years old.

But the troupe continues on, carrying proudly the name of the man who made them all what they are today. A sketch comedy troupe by God, and don't you forget it!

So remember the last words Mr. McFadden spoke, for they hold a certain simple truth. "Oh shit, I think I just crapped myself!" And crap himself he did.
